Well, we didn’t get the champagne drinks on arriving at reception as it states in the hotel info, nor did we get a great Bahamian warm welcome. I think that just set the whole tone for our four night getaway for Thanksgiving. The reception was not friendly at all, no genuine welcome. Room was nice but could be cleaner. Bed didn’t feel clean. Sheets looked a weird shade of white. Food was great in mornings, lunch was good with selection, but somehow dinners were tepid, not hot and not that impressive for buffets. Nobody likes eating warm food. Specialty restaurant when sat down told no Snapper but something else. Fish was good but salad we have made better ourselves at home. This hotel could have gotten a five from me if the staff at this hotel were more warm and greeted you with a smile if they passed you by. They couldn’t have cared less. They got a $2 they wouldn’t even say thank you like it was nothing. Rude. Just rude. One girl who worked at pool was the only one who smiled and was so sweet. Just one. How disappointing. This is a three star hotel at most. Service and staff are the reason we won’t be back again. I guess we were expecting service levels like RIU in Dubai which was outstanding. Please train your staff even if they hate their job to smile. Better still, if you don’t like the hospitality business, you shouldn’t be working here. Three thousand dollars on this? For four nights? Beach view not so glamorous from our room Very disappointed. Expectations were high Overcrowded pool area with chairs right next to each other. No privacy. Terrible music choices. Look at your clientele. Average age was in 40s with people in 30’s. Bar staff not one smile.

My 1st time in Bahamas. Spent about $2600 for my stay. I would not stay here again. I originally came here for 7 nights 8 days and booked via Apple Vacations. After staying here for 24 hours, I really didn't like it. I tried to check out early (with legitimate reasons) but they would not let me without charging me a full stay penalty. I spoke to someone at front desk named Vanessa (said she was as manager), I could see she just did not care, probably gets a lot of similar complaints. Apple Vacations couldn't do anything because RIU gets the final say. Anyway, hence me writing this review, and many others when I get back home. RIU brand really went downhill, I've stayed at multiple RIU properties over the last 20 years. I even tried to reach out to corporate. Ok RIU, I guess you will keep my money this time, but you lost me as a customer for life. The hotel (including the spa) is very rundown and old. The building looks scary on the outside (ocean side). It is absolutely extremely slippery everywhere here, especially in the elevators. The beach property is tiny, and the only foot wash station is barely working. If the weather conditions are even a bit off they won't let you swim. The commercial fans on the side of the building are loud enough to keep you up at night, but if you're brave enough to keep the patio door open there's plenty of cannabis smell all around. You can't really book any of the specialty restaurants until you check in on the app and wait at least 48 hours. Read all the other reviews very common complaint here. The food is barely okay and the good amount did not taste fresh. There's a laundry list of things but I'll save the rest, If you made it this far down in the review section you get the point. The pictures are from partial ocean view room. Those fans are extremely loud and never stop.

Love the place but it's cold

The hotel, amenities and experiences are one of a kind. Each year we come here and there's fun for the whole family. Many activities for children and adults alike. We love the Jr. Trainer for a Day program. This year we had the pleasure of being guided by Patrick & Braxton. Incredible people. My daughter had so much fun. Melinda at the Spa is 10/10 AMAZING!!! What stands out the most, besides all of the fun, is how genuinely kind the staff are. If it's your first time visiting, you should know there are auto gratuities added to all bills and a 10% VAT tax. In our experience, the staff more than earns their auto grat and in many cases you will want to add a bit more. Go to Nobu & Fish for great dining. I wouldn't recommend Field Trip for food. Swimming with the dolphins is worth it and def buy the photos for memories for years to come. You don't need to rent a car. The entire resort is walkable and there's a ton to do. Our favorite sweet spot is the gelato bar.

I took my daughter for her birthday in November (4-7), we went during a school week so it was fairly empty. That being said, I'm sure my experience is nothing like a weekend, holiday break, or summer visit. We had a great time and would've loved to stay 1-2 days longer and been able to do everything else, but will be going back! Cons: Checked in at 10am and was told to go explore and the room would be ready in less than an hour... didn't get a room until almost 2pm and only after having to speak to a supervisor. [Steven was very helpful to bring us to the room, carry our bags, explain everything, and reset the mood for the day.] The food is insanely overpriced. For 2 people, I couldn't get meals for less than 50$, even at the snack places. A plain soda at the swim up bar was like 7$. Restaurant reservations are so hit or miss! Definitely book dinner times before you even get there. Most places that serve food for dinner close by 5pm, so either eat early, have a reservation, or settle for a long walk to get fast food. I reserved a seat on the shuttle weeks in advance and confirmed the pick-up time the day we arrived and the day before we left, but they overbooked and wouldn't let us on. [Steven to the rescue AGAIN to call around and make them send another shuttle for us to get to the airport on time - give the man a raise!] Pros: Short lines for everything, spent hours going around the river 2 days in a row. Clean room... except for the tiny frog that got in when I left the door open by accident (oops!) So many things to see and do across the property. Had no reason to leave for anything the whole week. Early morning dolphin experience was overpriced to just stand in ankle deep water and wave at the dolphins, but you do get to stay (or come and do) on the beach for the whole day, which was pretty cool. For her bday dinner, my daughter wanted to dress up and get chicken fingers & fries so we ended up at the steakhouse... first of all, Ian... amazing customer service, very attentive, got her ice cream and sang (also very, very easy on the eyes). Second of all, the food and atmosphere was A1. Perfect date night/celebratory spot.

I have never been so displeased in my life. Atlantis Bahamas has gone severely downhill over the years and I stand on that. The service at this resort is absolutely horrendous. Nothing AT ALL is explained at check in and you are left with charges and fees upon checkout that were never explained. When asking to speak to the manager JUSTIN, he is just as INCOMPETENT as his staff. We explained to him many instances throughout our stay we were not pleased with, and instead of making things right he just backed up his staff. He had an extreme attitude and constantly was cutting us off when we were explaining all the things that went wrong. I am all for loyalty for your workers but if things are done incorrectly by YOUR staff and you still take their side that is terrible business manners. Now I am seeing all the negative reviews concerning the staff, and I stand on what I said more than ever. This resort needs an IMMEDIATE change in staff. Advice for all the travelers considering staying here: book the Bahamar instead. The SLS bahamar is the exact same price as this hotel with 10/10 experience and no complaints.

Prišli sme sem asi pred 6 rokmi ako letovisko na deň. Boli sme takí smutní, že sa to počas COVID zatvorilo, ale OMG tie aktualizácie/renovácie stáli za to. Počas našej zastávky v Nassau sme si kúpili lístok Resort for the Day a zariadenia a vybavenie nás uchvátilo. Plánujete sa vrátiť túto jar!
