Predražené, ale s 5-hviezdičkovým výhľadom a výnimočným prístupom na súkromnú pláž. Jedlo v all inclusive reštauráciách je na úrovni „B“. Tesne nad Dennyho, ale nič vzrušujúce. Príklad: dobre ochutený a lahodný filet v ich reštaurácii Risotto Cucina Italiana, ale hneď som vedel, že to nie je hovädzie mäso prvotriednej kvality alebo dokonca Choice; USDA Vyberte v najlepšom prípade. A menu bolo veľmi obmedzené. Mohol by som pokračovať o nižších stupňovitých nápojoch v celom rezorte, ale nečakajte Dona Julia atď., keď nalievajú od 15 do 20 dolárov fľaše Jimadoru. Look, you get what you pay for. I've been coming to this property ever since it was called the Hyatt Cancun. This hotel was awesome when it was operated by Hyatt. But the last 2 times we've been here it's been operated by Krystal and it has really gone down hill. On this occasion we stayed at this hotel for a couple nights to use as a base while we went on various excursions away from the hotel. I knew what I was getting when I booked it. My expectations were not high. But I at least expected this hotel to deliver on the bare minimums a hotel should be able to deliver to it's customers and it failed even at that. Our issues started right at check-in. The check-in process was highly inefficient and took forever. They seemed to take 15 or 20 minutes with each group or family, writing everything out on paper forms instead of punching things into a computer. From the time we walked through the door and finally got our room assigned the entire process took over an hour. Unacceptable! While waiting in line to check in we were approached by a lady who told us that after checking in to make sure to go over to a specific seating area where she would be waiting for us to go over a map of the property and to give us a brief rundown of all the restaurants and bars etc. which I knew from our past experience with Krystal that this was really a sales pitch for their vacation club. I told her 'it's ok, we've been here before... we're not interested' etc. and she said 'no, you HAVE to go.' So I just nodded, like yeah, whatever. I thought, I can kinda do whatever I want and no I'm not going over there. We finally get to our room and at first glance it looked clean. The bed was made. The floors looked clean. But as we were un-packing we noticed there was trash in the trash bin AND A USED BAR OF SOAP IN THE SHOWER. GROSS! The shampoo and conditioner were also used. And there were no towels! I called to complain and they said they'd bring new toiletries and towels and by this time we were running late for a dinner reservation we made at a really nice restaurant off-site. I actually had to delay my reservation an hour because they took so damn long to bring our towels and we needed to shower before heading out. Now lets talk about the elevators. They suck! Sometimes they aren't all working. 9 times out of 10 you'll be waiting a while for an elevator and have to cram into one with lots of other guests. One of the elevators smelled like urine during our entire stay. Our room was on the 11th floor and when we arrived with all our luggage and got in the elevator I realized the button for the 11th floor didn't work. I kept pressing it and it wouldn't light up. We went right past our floor and on the way back down I had to press the 10th floor button and carry our luggage up a flight of stairs. This took 2 trips up the stairs. Our last day there we had a few hours to kill before going to the airport so we rented a day bed at the beach (cost: $80). The guy went to get the sheets that came with the rental but came back and said they ran out. So we had to lay on top of an unlined outdoor mattress. The good: the saving grace of this hotel is it's location. It sits on one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to in my life! The rock wall blocks all the waves making it almost like a natural swimming pool. The water is warm and crystal clear! The sand is soft. And it's a short walk to some of the best nightlife and entertainment in the world. When we were young and cool me and my wife would lay out on the beach all day then head out and party all night. The City, Coco Bongo, Mandala... oh, the memories. If this hotel got it's act together I would recommend it if you are on a budget. The food sucks. The service is average at best. The pool is tiny. But it's very affordable and it's location and beach can't be beat!
