Solar do Castelo 

Everything about Solar do Castelo is exceptional. Our room was spacious with good storage spaces. The bath was a generous size. The service from all staff was extensive. Upon arrival a map including public transport routes, along with options for eating and site seeing were provided. The included buffet breakfast had everything from salad, to hot food, fresh fruit salad, bread, pastries, juice, coffee and tea etc. The view from our room included the ocean, peacocks, a castle and the local roof tops. Our room was warm during winter nights. Wifi great. Our location was very close the bus stop and not far from the tram. This hotel was a stand out.

My dad and I stayed here while passing through Lisbon. We enjoyed it so much. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. They have excellent service. We loved the location on top of the hill in a charming area that was quiet and safe at night. We were able to walk everywhere. The rooms were clean. We loved it so much that we came back and stayed again on our way out of Portugal. I highly recommend staying here.

Calme, très propre, petit déjeuner copieux et varié, café, thé, eau et pâtisseries à disposition toute la journée dans une belle grande pièce aménagée de petites tables pour deux ou quatre et des coins salon. Juste derrière le Castelo Sao Jorge dans la zone historique, exceptés les taxis et les bordiers, l’hôtel se rejoint à pied au mieux depuis l’arche rua do Chão da Feira. Ce n’est pas long, mais ça grimpe un peu. La chambre 15 est quasiment borgne, la porte fenêtre (pas de balcon) est dans un renfoncement. Dommage, ça m’a un peu gâché le séjour. Impossible de se balader en petite tenue sans tirer les rideaux à cause des proches vis-à-vis. Personnel féminin gentil et très serviable. Que ce soit depuis ma chambre ou de la terrasse (les photos font plus grand - et le petit jacuzzi qui y est ne fait pas envie), aucune vue sur la ville ou sur le château.

Very historic looking hotel. Food and service was great. It is on a hill, and the busses that take you up don’t run at night, so be prepared for a walk.

The staff at this hotel make you feel like the most important person, making you a part of its rich history. This palace is located next to St. Jorge Castle, offering breathtaking views and is the oldest hotel in Alfama, situated at the highest point of the hill. The staff take the time to engage with you, ensuring you feel special. They offer complimentary food and drinks, along with fulfilling any additional requests to make your stay even more memorable. I was truly impressed and the Pastel de Nata from this hotel is a must-try! I will miss my time here and look forward to returning for another complimentary bottle of Port Vintage in my room.
