We arrived at the resort and were initially impressed by its beautiful surroundings. However, our experience quickly took a few unexpected turns.
Upon check-in, we were greeted with a rather unusual offering of lemongrass Kool-Aid instead of something more fitting for this caliber of resort, like champagne or sparkling wine. A small detail, but one that set the tone for the rest of our arrival experience.
The check-in process felt rather impersonal. There was no warm greeting—just a quick request for our last name and credit card details. A simple “How are you?” or acknowledgment would have made us feel more welcome.
To our disappointment, our room wasn’t ready for over 4 hours despite booking through Virtuoso, which typically guarantees early check-in. We were informed that a large wedding had just wrapped up and that the team needed more time to prepare. While we understand these things happen, there was no apology for the delay or assistance offered during our wait. The staff didn’t direct us to lunch options or suggest places to get drinks, leaving us somewhat stranded with little guidance.
Additionally, we were taken aback by the resort’s approach to upselling. A sales representative approached us almost immediately upon arrival, offering a timeshare pitch disguised as a tour of new residences. While I understand that this is part of their business model, we found it off-putting, especially when we politely declined and were then denied a tour or even a resort map, which the sales rep held.
As for beachside service, it was incredibly slow—waiting up to two hours for the next round of drinks. If you’re someone who enjoys cocktails or mimosas by the beach, be prepared to wait.
The resort’s location, though on a large and visually appealing beach, was less than ideal. The slope of the sand means you can’t fully appreciate the waves coming and going, and more frustratingly, the sound of the ocean is entirely absent from both the resort and restaurants at night.
And our hot water stopped working! Rather than moving rooms we had a whole night of power tools on the opposite side of our headboard at 2 AM!
Our travel agency also attempted to call the resort 8 times on our behalf. All calls went unanswered.
At checkout there are 4-5 people who assist people simultaneously. In my opinion not all the other families need to be aware of my expenses, but they basically announced everybody’s loudly. Man on my left was $1800, couple on the right was $3800. 2 couples towards the right were $8500. None of us felt comfortable and I think we were all equally humiliated!
Overall, while the resort has potential, it fell short in several key areas. After a few days, we decided to move to The Cape, which provided a far superior experience in terms of service, location, and amenities. We left feeling much more relaxed and truly appreciated!

Nedávno sme zostali v hoteli. Rezervované tri izby. Hotel je krásny, ale služba bola naozaj hrozná. Ako uviedli iní, recepcia zriedka odpovedá na telefón. Dlho sme čakali na recepcii, aby sme sa prihlásili do našich izieb. (Ukázalo sa, že sa vám snažia predať časové podiely a nenechajú vás len tak ísť priamo do miestnosti). Naša izba nebola pripravená, takže sľúbili, že zavolajú, keď bude pripravená. Tento hovor nikdy neprišiel, takže sme celé popoludnie premárnili sedením pri bazéne. Dokonca ani personál bazéna sa nemohol dostať na recepciu. Po niekoľkých hodinách recepcia sľúbila, že sa s nami stretneme v izbe priateľa (kde sme si uložili batožinu) s kľúčom od izby. Nikto nás nestretol. Vrátili sme sa na recepciu a po značnom čakaní nám dali nesprávny kľúč. Mali sme problémy s potvrdením rezervácie na večeru. Mali sme kúpeľnú liečbu a boli sme nasmerovaní do nesprávnej budovy (viackrát). Recepcia si vôbec neuvedomovala, že hlavné kúpele sú otvorené a neustále nás posielala do rezidenčných kúpeľov. To premrhalo čas a zničilo relax kúpeľnej liečby. Bolo ťažké nahlásiť tieto problémy manažmentu. Nikto neodpovedá na e-maily a keď zavoláte na recepciu, prepojí vás viacero rôznych ľudí a potom sa telefón odpojí. Be prepared to get $300-400 additional charges per day on food.
The hotel refuse to apply $100 property credit even though the food spending is within the eligible handout sent at check in. During checkout, the staff just act like not knowing anything and refuse to apply the credit even after I showed her the handout THEY gave to me. This is totally unacceptable.
The hotel is beautiful and very very remote. It takes 15 mins to drive to hotel after the main gate and it takes 40 mins to downtown. Uber is not allowed to get inside to pick you up. They just trap you inside and charge ridiculous price for food. (E.g. $35 USD for a burger - in&out quality , $5 USD for a bowl of steamed rice, and minimum $21 for any cocktail. )
This is the hotel for people who do not care about sending hundreds of extra per day. Not for people who care about quality of food and reasonable price.

The service and quality add up to 5 stars💫and then some! The food was all amazing, my favorite part was the little extra treat’s you didn’t order that they bring as a surprise. The resort is in a more private location that I loved! But was only a $20 Uber downtown to the Arch! We booked excursions through our Concierge’s service at the hotel and when realized how safe it was we went downtown ourselves and book fun boat rides with locals at marina. The Lobby has yummy ice cream fruit options! They give compliment water 2 a day. We did bring some of our own alcohol and they were easy about us having it at the pool. They do have a full mini bar and snacks in the room. They have a large beach area and it was fun to see the whales jumping in morning and evening. The staff was kind!!! Everyone! They have 2 shops on property.
The only thing I thought needs tweaking was the “timeshare” resident sales pitch, right at the beginning..They should just send a note card under your door saying contact your concierge if interested. Nobu you are better that that😉
