For the price we paid, we feel completely robbed. They pushed two twin beds together and called it a king, even though we specifically booked a king-size bed. The room was filthy, smelled like urine, had no water, and wasn’t even facing the location advertised. Our experience with the staff was equally terrible, they provided just one small bottle of water in the room, and when we asked for more the next day, they requested 34 MX pesos for each bottle. Even for basic water, they expected tips. To make matters worse, we were nearly scammed by a group trying to sell a vacation package for nearly $70K. They claimed we needed to put $22K down to "close the deal" and promised a 14-day trip to some destination, but we’d still have to pay for the trip upfront and only receive $500 per flight in reimbursement. The entire situation was a nightmare. When you book an all-inclusive package at Grand Oasis, don’t be fooled, only a few of the worst restaurants are included. Imagine paying for all-inclusive and being limited to low-quality food, cheap alcohol, and access to a poorly maintained pool. They use a bracelet system to classify guests: if you have a blue bracelet (despite paying thousands of dollars), you’re treated as basic. Meanwhile, the Pyramid section is reserved for "members," but we barely saw anyone using these supposedly exclusive spaces. It feels like a bait-and-switch operation. I would NEVER recommend Grand Oasis (or Small Oasis) to anyone because they fail to deliver on their promises. If we hadn’t spent so much money on this trip, we would have left on Day 1 and asked for a ref. Room cleanliness: 0/10 View quality (compared to what we paid for): 0/10 Staff service (constantly expecting USD tips): 0/10 Any fun activities we had were only possible because we left the property. The resort offers nothing but poorly prepared food, cheap drinks, a dirty pool, and not enough chairs for guests to sit. Save your time, money, and sanity—go ELSEWHERE.
